What happened

The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) intends to create a new system of records notice, JUSTICE/EOIR-006, to cover all Fraud and Abuse Prevention Program records. The new notice would replace partial coverage under the existing JUSTICE/EOIR-001 system of records. The system will support receiving, tracking, and managing complaints of suspected immigration fraud and related abuse.

Why it matters for trust and compliance

  • Its status is proposed. It is not law yet. Track it, but do not treat it as an obligation.
  • The proposal expands Privacy Act record‑keeping for immigration fraud complaints, affecting how personal data are collected and shared with law‑enforcement agencies.
